How to Download Your Tradebook from 5paisa (2026 Guide)

5paisa splits its reports between the trading app and a separate back-office portal, which is why the trade report is hard to find. It is in the back office.

The file you want from 5paisa is the Trade Report: one row per executed trade, with a timestamp. The thing that trips people up is that it does not live in the trading app alongside your positions. It is in the back office, the separate reports portal.

Downloading it

  1. Log in to 5paisa, then open the back office reports portal (also reached as My Reports from your account menu).
  2. Go to Reports, then Trade Report.
  3. Select the segment and the date range you want.
  4. Download it. CSV is the most reliable format; Excel also works.

If you only see Tax P&L, Ledger and Portfolio reports, you are looking at the tax and statement section rather than the trade section. The Trade Report is the one that lists individual executions.

The reports to avoid

The distinction and how to spot it in any broker's file is covered in tradebook or P&L statement. The short version: one row per trade means you have the right file, one row per stock means you do not.

Check four columns before you use it

  1. A symbol or contract column.
  2. A side column showing buy or sell. Beware a "Type" column that actually holds LIMIT or MARKET.
  3. A quantity column with real numbers rather than lot descriptions.
  4. A timestamp. Date plus time of day unlocks everything; date alone limits you to day-level patterns.
Pick a period that includes a bad stretch

Most behavioural patterns only express themselves under pressure. A calm month can look completely clean and tell you very little. A quarter that contains a drawdown is far more informative, and it is the same amount of work to download.

What to do with it

A trade report read in order rather than as a total shows how long you waited after a loss compared with after a win, whether your position size moved after a bad trade, how your trade count clustered on your heaviest days, and how much longer losers stayed open than winners.

The full method, with the thresholds and the honest limits, is in tradebook analysis. Or drop the file into Mirror, which reads it in your browser and shows each pattern with the trades behind it.

Common questions

Where is the trade report in 5paisa?

In the back office reports portal rather than the trading app, under Reports and then Trade Report. If you are only seeing tax and ledger reports, you are in the statements section instead of the trade section.

Can I use the 5paisa Tax P&L report for behaviour analysis?

No. It aggregates per instrument with averaged prices and carries no trade times, so the order of your trades is gone. Behavioural measurement depends entirely on that order.

CSV or Excel?

CSV is the most reliable across brokers. Excel usually works too, but may contain several sheets or title rows above the actual table.

How much history should I download?

Enough to include a losing period. A calm month often shows nothing, which is useful to know but weak evidence. A quarter containing a drawdown tells you far more.

Got your 5paisa trade report?

Drop it into Mirror and see what the sequence shows. Free, no account, and your file never leaves your browser.
